Investment Groups, Sustainable Sportswear + Tweed Wallpaper
Another pot luck (aka carefully curated) selection of tech, creativity + innovation.
Dearest Bugle reader,
It’s the first edition of February, written under blue skies, but will that have an impact on the content? You tell me:
INFORM: Two New Investment Groups Launch in One Week
With nature coming out of deep Winter hibernation as we pass Imbolc (a Gaelic festival that marks the beginning of Spring), it seems the investors are doing the same. Two new investment groups launched last week locally:
I’ve heard a rumour that a third will launch in Gloucestershire before Summer so keep your ear to the ground!
If this topic is up your street, you might also like to attend the forthcoming UKBAA event on deep-tech investing: https://ukbaa.org.uk/events/angel-investing-in-deeptech/
CELEBRATE: Sustainable Sportswear Brand on a Roll
Kostüme cycling apparel combines premium recycled materials with limited edition artist collaborations and a low-waste pre-order only model. Ed Bartlett this week announced that they have both hit 100% of their Crowd-Funding target (and are into over-funding) AND that they achieved some Global Press coverage with Forbes. If you’re in the market to invest, to buy some new cycling attire or just to support a great local founder, click the button.
CONNECT: Have you Met Jitty Yet?
Jitty is quite possibly one of the boldest startups to come out of the Southwest. Where Huboo are on a mission to replace Amazon, Jitty is delivering ‘the search engine for finding your next home’ (move over RightMove ;)) Their newest feature is one of my favorites - free text search. If you want tweed wallpaper, or a potting shed, Graham Patterson and the team have delivered the tech.
JUST FOR FUN… The First Friday of every month is marked by the brilliant team at Watershed/Pervasive Media Studio who host ‘First Friday.’ This event is the first of the year and is part of Bristol Light Festival. It will showcase projects from the Studio community that explore the theme of light.
That’s all for this week,
Warmest,
Briony
